3rd Down Jump When visiting schools are trying to convert on a third down, the MUSS leads other fans in jumping up and down and making noise to distract the visiting school. The closer the opposition is to their goal line, the more frantic Utah fans become. In front of the MUSS is a running tally of the number of false starts the opposition has had during the game. Blues Brothers' Theme At the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Utah marching band plays Blues Brothers' Theme while a female fan dances energetically in front of them. The tradition was started by an elderly woman, affectionately known as Bubbles who danced enthusiastically to the song when the band first played it which helped energize the crowd. Bubble’s performances quickly became a tradition. After Bubbles retired a new fan took over, know as Crazy Lady. Crazy Lady received her nickname from the MUSS, which is the "Mighty Utah Student Section". As the third quarter comes to a close, the MUSS chants for Crazy Lady to do her dance.
