Former Players on BYU Rivalry Bryan Rowley: The fact that anyone would want the rivalry game between Utah and BYU to end is CRAZY!!  Why would anyone want the game to end? It is awesome to have a least one game played every year that gets the blood boiling. One of the greatest feelings for a player is to run into a hostile stadium. I have read fans write about the game being too heated and how things need to simmer down, ---- whatever! People need to get as crazy as they want to get at the games, THEY ARE FANS, and that is what fans do.  For people on both sides of the rivalry that are crying about too much bad blood, come out to Philadelphia, where I live, and go to an Eagles vs Cowboys game. You are literally taking your life in your own hands if you wear a Cowboy jersey in the parking lot. People on both sides of the rivalry take things too serious... Jiminy Christmas, I had a whole soda poured on my head at BYU's stadium as I walked to the field, I didn't cry about it, I laughed it got me more fired up, it was great!!   Bryan Rowley Louie Sakoda: For some reason, it never crossed my mind that the rivalry would come to a halt with the transference to the Pac 10. The rivalry means so much to the players and the entire state. It's a discussion piece in many Utahan's daily conversations, it's motivation for the internal workings of the team, and it's fuel for our fans year round. I believe it would be extremely sad if one of the oldest football traditions were to simply stop. I don't know if there were any way to continue it through a yearly non-conference game with BYU such as that which exists with Utah State. Not only is the rivalry important to the two participating schools, but discontinuing it would also knock a little bit of wind out of the MWC's sails as many outside viewers tune in to watch our power-house match-ups. Whether something can be done about it or not, Utah has an amazing future ahead of it and as a former Ute, I can't wait to watch it all happen. Louie Sakoda Brent Casteel The TDS rivalry game is a necessity! I remember being rattled my sophomore season playing in Provo. It was the loudest stadium we had visited in my career, and their fans were crazy! That is one game that no one needs any motivation for, everything is on the line. I loved scoring Touchdowns on the boys down south. Every program needs a nemesis for the players and the fans, I love everything about the game and I hope it continues without any hiccups as the Utes join the Pac 10.
